Reading The Real Guarantee Terms Behind ‘60-Day Money-Back’
A headline like ‘60-day money-back guarantee’ sounds simple. The actual, linked policy behind it often is not.
Four specific conditions commonly hide inside guarantees like this, and each one changes how much you would actually get back.
Condition one: the minimum trial period
Some guarantees require you to use the product for a minimum number of days — commonly 30 — before you become eligible to request a refund at all. This is framed as giving the product a fair chance, but it also means you cannot simply try it for a week and get your money back if it is not for you.
Condition two: sealed-bottle requirements
Some policies only accept returns of sealed, unopened bottles. In a multi-bottle bundle, this can mean that once you have opened even one bottle to try the product — which the minimum trial period above may require you to do — the remaining unopened bottles in that same shipment might be the only ones eligible for refund.
Condition three: the restocking fee
A restocking fee, commonly in the 15-25% range, is deducted from your refund total even when a return is accepted. A $200 order with a 20% restocking fee returns $160, not $200 — a meaningful difference worth knowing in advance.
Condition four: who pays return shipping
Many guarantees require the customer to cover the cost of shipping the product back, and explicitly exclude the original outbound shipping charge and any customs fees from the refund. For international orders, return shipping alone can be a meaningful sum.
Why this is not automatically a red flag
None of these conditions are unusual or inherently deceptive. They are standard risk-management practices across the direct-to-consumer supplement industry. The issue is not that these conditions exist — it is that a simple headline like ‘60-day money-back guarantee’ does not communicate any of them.
Applying this to Sugar Reset
